PROBLEM:

I've been happily playing Big Fish Games with POL thanks to a very kind man named Booman who instructed me via the blog Gamers on Linux (http://www.gamersonlinux.com/forum/threads/drawn-series-big-fish-games-guide.2552/#post-20459) on how to make everything run smoothly.

Almost every game works perfectly with the exception of a few newer games released in 2018 by Mad Head Games. The requirements seem to be the same to me

Game System Requirements:

    OS: Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 10
    CPU: 2.5 GHz
    RAM: 1024 MB
    DirectX: 9.0
    Hard Drive: 587 MB

but when I try to play the game, the window gets minimized to tray and if I click on it, I get a full black screen but I can hear the sound in the background. When in full screen there is no way for me to shut down the game unless I log out CTRL ALT BACKSPACE.

My current settings in POL:
Windows XP
Wine 3.0
Drive 32 bits
d3dcompiler_43
d3dx9

I played around with the settings and using different versions of Wine and Windows and installing d3dx10, d3dx11 and directx9 (not all at once, of course!).
I also enabled and disabled GLSL, set Direct Draw Renderer to opengl and the Video Memory size to 4096 but everytime I get the same errorin the debugger!

The problem seems to be related to GLSL.

If you want to test the game for free yourself, here is the free demo:

Thanks!

I have read the tutorial (manual installation) that you followed.

I suggest you to retry with a more recent version of Wine instead of the v3.0 (example: 3.19, or 4.4 with POL v4.3).

I'd had quite the same problem. But I fixed it by enabling the virtual desktop in POL and setting it to the monitor's native resolution.

In my case, 1680x1050. (It's under configure --> Wine --> configure Wine --> Graphics.)

I hope it helps!
