I've had the same error. Solved it thanks to the information I got here. I've just registered to this forum to share my experience (and maybe to increase the chance that others find this useful page).

Starcraft 2 tried to patch from 1.4.4 and all I got after the ~90 MB download was an "Error Code BLZPT500007". I also had several crashing agent.exe during that process.

I've upgraded to wine 1.5.10 which solved the problem with the agent.exe, but it was only after I also installed the gecko (not sure if this is mandatory beyond being able to read the upgrade message) and the dotnet40-package that i was able to upgrade to patch 1.5.0 and finally being able to play starcraft 2 again.

This on my Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit pae installation.

MadMike out.

It seems to work fine now (Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit, POL 4.1.8) following instructions read here:

http://www.playonmac.com/es/topic-9260.html
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=20882

-Switch the direct3d "dnsapi" dlloverride to builtin,
-wine 1.5.10 32 bit,
-running "echo 0 |sudo tee /proc/sys/kernel/yama/ptrace_scope" before SC2
-optional, echo 1 to the above file to restore previous state

Hope that helps ;)
