Hi. First time posting here. I know this has been discussed on other forums (and possibly this one) but I haven't been able to find a definitive solution.

I have been using Ubuntu for many years now, without knowing much about it. I have still been able to use it fully and I can follow simple toturials I find online ;)

What I'm trying to do is to set up playonlinux to play Fallout 3 and similar games with an Xbox 360 controller (wired). Getting the game to play is very easy, but I cannot get the controller working in wine at all.

I have read something about changing some registry entrys or adding some patches to the wine source before compiling.
I couldn't figure out the registry-part, but I managed to add the patch file to the source just fine. Unfortunately I couldn't make the compiler compile and install wine correctly :(

I have formatted the system since then (went from Kubuntu to Ubuntu and deleted all my configs and logs), so I can't recall what error the compiler gave :(

This is the wine patches I have found:
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2008-November/064302.html
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2008-November/064304.html
http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2008-November/064305.html

I was hoping someone could guide me through the correget procedure to get the controller working in wine.
I'm on a fresh Ubuntu 12.04 distro, with no wine installed atm.

I would really hate to go back to Windows :)

Thanks
