Hello
I am testing a program called ScaleNet (for electronic scales).
I'm using PlayOnLinux 4.1.1 with wine 1.1.28 (the program only wants that version) on Ubuntu "12.04".

The program requires permissions to create SOCK_RAW socket, so that they are enabled with the command:

setcap cap_net_raw=ep wineserver

After this,
the application seems to work, but the log tells me the warning:

/home/user/.PlayOnLinux/wine/linux-x86/1.1.28/lib/../bin/wineserver: Symbol `wine_casemap_upper' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking

This error can affect the proper functioning of the program?
is there anyway to fix it?

Thanks for being up here, and sorry for using a web translator.

You may ask WineHQ team about this.

However, they will not accept to support wine 1.1.28 I think ... This version is very old.

Sorry for confusing the forum .. (I did not understand the irony of Hackers :) )

The
version is old, but does not walk in wine 1.4 (maybe a half version)
and as you say do not support.
I really want to know if I have to focus you in error or directly rule it out .. I have the fear that generates random failures.

Also post the error in WineHQ, but as a version of wine is made for you, I thought I would get started around here.
If I make anything I post it then.

Anyway, thank you. It is still interesting for other people.

In general, you can ignore wine errors if your program runs, but in that case, you have a wineserver related error, which is more rare. I can't really tell you if it's a problem or not.

I moved your post the "hacker" forum because I think it was more adapted than "Test scripts", which has very strong rules (Post presentation, only for officialy supported programs, ...)
