Hi, I would have 2 questions:
1) Is this possible to run a cmd prompt in play on linux, running a selected wine version, so that I could try programs with different wine, without going through the adding/installing process of Playonlinux... would be great!
2) would it be possible to run .bat files somehow?
I would be grateful for any answers... thnx

Hello,

I know this is a late response, but I saw you have no responses and I'm in somewhat of the same boat. If you grab a copy of the new PlayOnLinux, version 4, it has a ton of new features. It's awesome! It's about 96% of the way to perfection. It has a feature where you can open a virtual command prompt in whichever wine prefix you want, and very easily.

You can click on whichever game or application you want, then click the "Configure" button, and go to the Wine tab. Then, click the Command Prompt button to open a Wine command prompt in that applications prefix.

You can also easily open a Linux command terminal in the prefix by going to the Miscellaneous tab and choosing "Open a Shell".

If you notice on the left hand side of the window with all these options, you'll see an organized list of prefixes and you can click any other prefix to open command prompts in those as well.

As far as batch files, I think Wine supports batch files, but I'm not sure if the PlayOnLinux front-end supports them yet. Some of my applications require being started with command line parameters, and I haven't quite figured out how to create a shortcut in POL that includes command line parameters.

What you might be able to try using is some kind of BAT to EXE converter, which I plan on trying.

I hope this was helpful to you.
