There is a typo in the script that PlayOnLinux provides for Borderlands. Someone corrected that and posted a revision to the script in this thread:

This problem has existed for at least 2 months. Hope the heads up is useful.

This error was corrected but uploaded for some unknown reasons...thx for pointing this, it's now solved.
