Hi,
Reinstalled The Witcher original again but this time i am having a problem.
When i go to launch the game for the first time i get the following 3 buttons appear in this order:

1-The drivers require installation (with an administrators account)
Do you want to proceed now [yes] [no]

2- (after pressing yes) Unable to proceed (error 87)
[OK]

3- (after clicking ok) white X on red button: Insufficient privileges: you must be administrator when you run this application for the first time.
[OK]

clicking ok closes the game.

I have checked playonlinux and wine, both are set with windows98 as default to try to get around what was perceived to be a windows admin problem. I reinstalled the game with the same results.

I should point out wine claims to be version 1.2.2 and playonlinux claims its wine version is 1.3.9

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 and have found gksudo nautilus is of no help as i cant navigate to the users desktop or playonlinux.

I have the original game folder saved off, intended to install it fresh then copy the original onto it so i could keep all saved games etc, and prepare for The Witcher2.

Any ideas would be appreciated, i have also posted this in the Ubuntu forums, it was suggested i come here as well.

Just install patch 1.5, it officially disable game protection (your actual problem).
