I've got a ubuntu 10.10 with wine, playonlinux, and Q4wine installed. I can't seem to download Windows Media Player10 yet. Either way, VTC.com (TrainSignal) uses .html files to execute the .js scripts and .xml to make the webpage that has the navigation on the left and .avi playing on the right, both interactive, and very nice. See, I can play the video, yea, but I can't get them to run from my own machine thru internet explorer on wine or playonlinux.......

any help (including the repositories for WMP10 or where to get it) is very much appreciated

thank's in advance

Can't you use the site normally on Firefox?

Either way I visited their website quickly and found this on the front page: http://www.vtc.com/modules/content/airplayer.php
Quote: "The VTC AIR Player is our new offering to provide you access to the VTC Online University from a Windows, Macintosh, or Linux machine."

Although their FAQ says "Adobe AIR run time is available for Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Adobe plans to release a run time for Linux soon.", you can get version 2.5 from Adobe already and they claim it works on Ubuntu 9.10, Fedora Core 12 and OpenSUSE 11.2.

Have you tried that option yet? If it doesn't work with their player and the Linux AIR, you might want to send them an e-mail for direct customer support, since they seem to be one of the rare companies that care about their Linux users ;)

Let us know how it goes, I might hit them up myself with a couple comments depending on your success.

P. S. As far as I can see WMP 10 is in the list of applications you can install, just look it up on PlayOnLinux and follow the instructions (I've not tried it myself, but I figure everything should be rather straight-forward).
