I am running full Unity interface with Mutter enabled on my Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook Edition running on ASUS EEE PC 1201N. Playonlinux version is 3.8.1. Language: polish. I want to patch my Witcher EE game, but the patching process breaks, when installing attackeffects.2da. The patch file is the official one from the Witcher's site. Wine returns error message: Error number -2147418113 with some more useless lines, where description resides, but no data. The terminal returns nothing at all. Wine 1.3.3 with virtual desktop enabled.

I removed Wine and PlayOnLinux directories, uninstalled them and installed again, this time all from generic Ubuntu 10.10 repositories. I installed Witcher EE again. PlayOnLinux was run from terminal. Here is complete output:

I will check this out as soon as possible, thx for reporting.

During the day I have read some text regarding wine and mutter. Basing on those text, I'll try to redo the whole operation of setting up POL and installing Witcher. This time all will be done in metacity right from start to the end. Expect results no later than 10 AM UTC of 20 IX 2010. I just hope that on the end it will start up inside mutter, if it succeeds to install. Lots of Apport bug reports were sent by me already to the launchpad. Many of those seemed to be completely new. Always I have this bad luck of being a pioneer. Even if I install a system which is known as a stable, sooner or later I will encounter serious bugs. :/
A curse of an unwilling bug reporter. ;(
This can be tiring.

FORGET IT. The problem is WM independent. Terminal output is exactly the same. No Icon, no patch to play.

OK. Thanks. Just one more question - which version of wine are you using? I have problems with the newest ones. For example with 1.2:

Now I got to the intro. I will see how much further will I get.

Damn... Only now I felt the huge lack of processing power. The Atom CPU chokes with huge amounts of computing data. Even if it is dual core. But everything else worked nicely. Very nicely should I say.
