Hi!

I installed playonlinux from ubuntu 10.04 repository.I searched silkroad in the menu and installed it, but when i click the start button(after the game+ms fonts installed), i see the hackshield logo and nothing...no game, no error msg.

My PC:
Amd phenom2 545 3Ghz + radeon hd 4200 (>> windows+silkroad ok)

I use 64bit ubuntu 10.04 (2.6.32-24) with the latest ati driver (first, i try the opensource driver)+ gnome 2.30.2
direct rendering: Yes
3D test :~ 9000 frames/sec

I install wine 1.3.2 and 1.1.36 in plo, but nothing changed.
OffscreenRenderingMode is backbuffer.

oh, and the Wine os: win XP.

+ i try to remove the "~/.PlayOnLinux" directory and reinstall silkroad

It's quite possible that your problem is actually HackShield, though: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4666
It's often the case with free MMO anti-hack systems. But according to this comment, you can get through it on Wine version 1.0.1, although it might cause crashes: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4666#c20

Hmm, when i last watched the winhq site all test result is platinum.(morning? im blind)
Win 98 dont work, i wait for the new wine verson.
