Hello together,

first sorry for my bad english :(

and second: I have a problem with Sims 3 World Adventures (German Version)

Here is a little describtion of the problem:
- I install the The Sims 3 (but doesn't patch it)
- Then i install the addon World Adventures. After the installation i want to update the game through the Installation Script, but the patch wasn't found on the servers.
- After that i installed the newest patch from Sims 3 and the newest patch from World Adventures

- Now i want to start the game via the World Adventures Link.
- But the game doesn't start with the following error:
Running Die Sims 3 Reiseabenteuer
Die Sims 3 Reiseabenteuer: Zeile 5: cd: /home/dragon/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/TheSims3/drive_c//Electronic Arts/Die Sims 3 World Adventures/Game/Bin: No such file or directory
wine: cannot find L"C:\\\\windows\\\\system32\\\\TS3EP01.exe"

After that i changed the folder settings in .playonlinux/configures/installed and start the game again.
Now the following error appears:
Running Die Sims 3 Reiseabenteuer
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 154 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 620
Current serial number in output stream: 620

Did someone know this error, and can post a solution or can help me to fix that??

Here are some helpful Informations:
- i use Ubuntu 9.10 (64 bit Version) in german
- Wine was installed via the script in Version 1.41 (Same error appears with 1.1.34)
- Playonlinux is in Version 3.7.3 (german)
- My Desktop is Gnome in version 2.2.28
- Here is my Computer Configuration:
I use a intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9400 (4x2,66GHZ)
8096 MB of RAM
1024MB Nvidia Geforce 9600GT
I have a Seagate ... 1.5 TB Hard Disk

I hope that this informations are enough for solve the problem.

Thanks

What patch version numbers were displayed before downloading patch?

1) What do you've got in registry under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\\Electronic Arts\\EA Core\\Installed Games\\sims3_dd
2) Can you show changed file from .playonlinux/configures/installed?

Hello,

After installation of the basegame Sims 3 the Version was 1.0.
After the installation of World Adventures The Sims 3 was upgraded to 1.5.8 and World Adventures has the Version 2.0.

Under sims3_dd there was 2 entrys.
- standard.....reg.sz....no entry
- lang.......reg.sz.....de_DE
And under sims3ep-01 the same entrys.

This is the modified file.
#!/bin/bash
PATH="/home/dragon/.PlayOnLinux/WineVersions/1.1.41/usr/bin/:$PATH"
export WINEPREFIX="/home/dragon/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/TheSims3"
export WINEDEBUG="-all"
cd "/home/dragon/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/TheSims3/drive_c/Programme/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 World Adventures/Game/Bin"
wine "TS3EP01.exe" $@

After this changes, the error "no such file or directory" is gone.

I use the newest no cd files which are for the newest patches .

Was the installer(after POL launched it from DVD) for World Adventures in English or in German?

You've got 64 bit system. Does any other 3D game works in Wine for you? If not then you may need to install 32 bit graphic drivers for your graphic card. I don't know what is the name of this package with drivers in Ubuntu, but I do know that such package exists in Fedora 12 64 bit.

The installer was in german. But the folder in electronix arts was in english (The Sims 3 World Adventures)

I install the official driver from nvidia (its 64bit). warzone 2100, glest and extreme tux racer are functional.

That's strange because when I install Polish version then the installer and the directories are in Polish. Now I see that it's not that obvious.

warzone 2100, glest and extreme tux racer are Linux games and not games run through Wine. Wine may need 32 bit graphic drivers.

ok i try the 32bit drivers.

last night i found out, that must be a problem with the graphic drivers. when uninstall the official drivers and install the frglx drivers (which i get throu systems ==> systems ==> Hardware drivers) the games start.
But it have very much graphic glitches (strange colours, must objects are flickering) and when i try to load a game its crashs.

I give a feedback when i try the 32bit drivers.
