I am trying to install the Sims 3. When I use POL to do the install it starts off by trying to download Wine 1.1.36. Once the download is complete the installer gives me an error dialog that it is unable to find Wine version 1.1.36. Whe I click the "next" button in the error dialog it then spends all day trying to extract wine without any results.

here is what the terminal tells me;

Opening PlayOnLinux-wine-1.1.36.pol
Extracting PlayOnLinux-wine-1.1.36.pol...
The file is not a valid PlayOnLinux package : PlayOnLinux-wine-1.1.36.pol
python: can't open file '/usr/share/playonlinux/python/tools/get_wineversions.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

when i navigate to that directory I find that the folder tree stops at /usr/share/playonlinux/python/, and there is no tools folder.

what am I doing wrong here?

For the moment, we don't have any solution. You can try to reinstal Wine 1.1.36.
