I think you made a great job with the MS office 2007 script.
However, there is an additional script that if developed, would allow most of the people working in academia including students, to definitively switch to linux.
Which one? the one that would allow to install the program called "endnote" (see www.endnote.com) which is used to collect references and do bibliographies in scientific publications, thesis ad reports.
In fact, Endnote can be already installed easily with WINE, however it includes this ms word (and now also openoffice writer) plugin, that allows to insert citations in documents and produce a bibliography, which does not work.
This is a showstopper for a lot of people, since this software is widely used and then force users to have either a windows or mac os installed in order to be able to complete their work with citations and so on.
Not to mention that sometimes papers are written in collaboration with people from other institutions who use a highly mainstream set of applications.
Since the software can be downloaded in fully working demo version, could anyone try to develop a script to have it correctly installed and fully integrated with a word processor such as word or writer?
Thanks a lot for your consideration

I just would like to say that I am not in anyway related to the software that I proposed to develop the script for, just in case what I wrote might sound a little bit like a "commercial".
But I am a scientist, having to deal with a lot of proprietary software in the working place, who would like to use linux as much as possible, not only for his "home" use.

I think supporting academia is very important. And since academia contributes a lot of users and code to the entire Linux universe it deserves attention.
Can you help guys? Anyone?

Perhaps a stupid question, but do you know LaTeX? That's what I use to write articles. Although it is harder to learn, the results really look nice and most important: it is Free Software. Actually, I did not know MS Office was still used by people in academia.

Hey I never used EndNote even when I was a Windows user but many people kept asking me how to get it running under linux. Even better than EndNote running under linux though is a better open source citation manager.
I found Zotero.org and its so much better than endnote and cross compatible between operating systems. It also allows you to work in groups, sharing resources etc.
