Hello there,
After being impressed with the quick and easy installation, I tried to launch Team Fortress 2.
The initial Valve sound played and then the menu soud, but there was absolutely no video/display. Checking the processes list, hl2.exe was still running, so obviously something is going wrong here.
My system should be fine, as I used to run TF2 in Windows before switching to Ubuntu, but here are the specs & software:
PlayOnLinux 3.5
Wine v1.0.1-0ubuntu6
Ubuntu (Gnome)
Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.4GHz
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT
Resolution: Dual monitors, both 1680 x 1050
Thanks in advance for any help.

You have to follow instructions given here. First you should set ORM=fbo and check if it runs on dx9 and if not you should switch do dx8.
I have got plans to do script for TF2, but i don't know when.

The only relevant answers I can find on that page are these:
1) load steam first before running the TF2 game
2) expect the game list to take a few minutes to load
3)add the -dxlevel 81 to TF2 by going through the "Properties" button in steam
----
run winecfg and enable/disable some graphic options, such as pixel shader and vertex shader br />----
run winecfg and set to different Windows OS mode, such as Windows XP or Windows 98
----
Use a different version of Wine
I have tried them and it still isn't working. I could not find any mention of "ORM=fbo" though.

Then you don't read carefully. Here (3b) is how to set it.

Still not working, followed the instructions to 3B.
(Also, sorry that I couldn't see it, but you actually provided a different link earlier, which didn't have any mention of ORM.)

Previous link also mentioned about ORM. I think you should have to wait until there will be script for installing TF2 on PlayOnLinux.

The trouble is that it doesn't run through Wine either, which I know that it does for others, so there's some problem other than with POL.

Hi wuut,
As suggested by NSLW, if you want to test the TF2 script, here is informations from the original topic ('cause I guess you don't read French ;-))
cendre proposes scripts he made to install Half-Life², HL² episode one & two, HL² Lost Coast, Portal, Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike Source.
These 7 scripts are downloadable HERE.
However, these scripts haven't been tested a lot so it's possible that they don't all work properly (unluckily, it seems it's especially the case of the TF2 script).
Testing them will help to improve them and will allow to validate them once they will be bug free.
Bye

Thanks for the scripts. I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and I was able to succesfully use the Portal scripts. However, the TF2 scripts produce the CAudio error. Any Idea on how to fix this?
Thanks

@NSLW : Ghostofkendo send me a message about bugs in my TF script, I won't fix it now because I have to take my exam next week, I take care of this bug after my exam, thank you for reading my script.
