just installed PlayOnLinux from this site.
When i start this application a "First Use Assistance" window pops up, then it tries to connect to remote site and then it said that i must be connected to the internet. i have persistent connection and i'm not behind any proxy, firewall or NAT thing.

how can i fix this?

if start playonlinux from console under root privileges, works fine - connects to internet, install microsoft fonts and so on. but it applies to root session only. if pol starts from shortcut, then -> read my first post

Hello raven128,

PlayOnLinux mustn't be started as root.

How do you connect to the Internet ? via Ethernet, wi-fi, usb modem ?

Is wget installed ?

Could you run POL from a terminal with user privileges, try to install Microsoft fonts and paste here the output in the terminal.

Bye
