Hi, I installed it under Fedora 11 x86_64 and the game crashes when loading the city. The game starts ok but I can't pass that step. The sound and video was ok. I changed the options to minimal but no luck, the same problem.
I've not patched the game yet, is it neccesary?
Hard:
Athlon X2 4000+
Ram 2 GB 667 Mhz
nvidia GeForce 8600GT 512 MB
Thanks.

Good morning and a merry whatever holiday you happen to be celebrating when reading this.
I have successfully installed sims 3 and it runs quite well but have been unable to use the Sims 3 Updates option in patches on playonlinux.
The script gives tells me that I must first install the Sims 3 nefore it can patch it... apparently it does not see that it is already installed. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
Also I would like some pointers on how to install the expansions as I also have Sims 3 Pets, Late Night, and Town Life Stuff.
I was able to install the expansions by running autorun.exe on each of the dvd's inside the sims3 wine prefix, but then I was unable to run sims 3... do i need a nocd for each of the expansions as well?
thankyou for your help.

I have to install via Origin. Origin keeps restarting the download. The highest I have ever gotten is 25%. I tested with several version of wine 1.4.1 to 1.7.0. The only wine version that works with Origin is 1.5.28-Origin, but that is a modified POL version. Maybe the modified POL wine 1.5.28 needs more modifying? I was able to get Simcity 2013 to work via Origin in another VD.
