integrate the Gfire Messenger Script for Xfire Messenger

The Gfire Project

Gfire is an open source plugin for the Pidgin IM client which allows you to connect the Xfire network.

Features:

* Friend’s list
* Add & Remove friends
* View friend’s current game (games list updated weekly)
* View friend’s profiles
* Join friend’s server
* Detects games and logs game time
* Set your status as “Away from Keyboard (AFK)”
* Set custom status

Requirements:

* Linux or Windows 95 & above
* Pidgin 2.00 & above

Gfire was started by asraniel in May 2005. He has developed Gfire into a popular plugin for Gaim/Pidgin. By the end of 2006, the project had stopped. In March 2008, asraniel handed over the project to chewit and luxus to develop the project futher.

Their ideas of the future is to add new features to Gfire and make it more compatible for Pidgin than Gaim. They have promised to keep the games list up-to-date, provide support and keep the project open-source.

Gfire is free software. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. This means you are free to use it and to modify it, but if you distribute your modifications you must distribute the modified source code as well.
