Hi everyone,
I am trying to get an older Windows game to run on PlayOnLinux but I have been having some trouble. The game installs fine but when I try to launch it,, I either get a black screen or it crashes back to the desktop. I have tried using different Wine versions and adjusting the settings but no luck so far.
I have seen people mention using specific Wine configurations for older games. Could anyone share any tips or guide me on the best way to tweak PlayOnLinux to get older games working: ?? Also, do you recommend specific Wine versions that are better for compatibility with legacy software: ??
My system specs:
Ubuntu 22.04
PlayOnLinux 4.3.4
Wine 7.0.1 (though I’ve tested other versions too)
If anyone has dealt with similar issues, I would really appreciate any advice !! I am still learning my way around Linux gaming and could use any help to avoid dual-booting into Windows just for this game.
