Picasa does not connect to Maps

I installed picasa 3.9 on my MacMini M1 with System 12.5.1 Monterey.
Everything works except the places module.
It should connect to google maps for gps location of photos.
Returns the message [object error].
Maybe it doesn't connect to the internet?
What should I do?
