I found a pretty great but dated tutorial PDF explaining how to install PlayOnMac to your system:

It mentions that after installing PlayOnMac you can go to Tools --> Manage WIne Versions to install the latest and greatest version of WINE from WineHQ.org

 

Unfortunately when I click on Tools --> Manage WIne Versions nothing comes up. No information on what version of WINE has been installed on my system by PlayOnMac and zero versions of WINE from WineHQ.org.

 

I am running PlayOnMac on MacOS 10.14.6. Can anybody please tell how to make sure the version of WINE installed by PlayOnMac is up to date?
