Running into issues with Counter Strike Source

Game gets stuck on 'Initializing data' while on loading screen

MKhan2000	Good evening, I recently purchased Counter Strike Source from Steam so that I could run it on my Mac OS Catalina (version 10.15.7) using PlayOnMac, but the game keeps freezing at the loading screen whenever it gets to the 'Initializing Data' screen. I tried clicking on the Options, but the game freezes. Has anyone experienced this issue with CS Source? If so, how can I fix this? I don't want to waste my $10 on something that won't work.
