Trying to play AoE II HD on Steam
Content servers unreachable fix not working and other issues

I am running wine 2.6 staging after following a YouTube video so I can play AOE II HD on Steam. The video makes it look so easy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ub08riO35y0&t=158s I have to make Wine run Windows 10 because everything else is unsupported. First I had the no font issue which I fixed (forgot how I did it cause I was up all night fighting with this) Now I am getting the Black Screen issue. I followed the instructions here:

There is a CS line in the Mac Steam config and I copied and pasted it like they said but it does nothing and since there is a black screen with everything, I cannot even reach my settings bar to change my download preferences because I can't even see the menu, it's offscreen, all I can see is the little circle in the corner of the browser just spinning. Also, if I try to use a version of Wine higher than 3.01 Steam says I have no Internet connection and I'm not sure about proxy settings. I do not normally run a proxy It says winhttp is installed but wininet will not install. Core fonts will not install. If I didn't want to play games so badly I'd give up right now. Let me know of you need more info and/or screenshots. Thanks! |

Update: Here is my entire config.vdf for Steam on PlayonMac..please tell me exactly where and how to put the "CS" line with the servers in with the file. Plus, the fact that Steam won't show me my entire top bar is still an issue.
