Lutris is hosting several newer "staging" versions of Wine that aren't available in PlayOnLinux yet.

https://lutris.net/files/runners/

You can download them and extract them to the ~/.PlayOnLinux/Wine folders:

• linux-amd64
• linux-x86

There are a few other patched versions I would love to see in PlayOnLinux as well:

• wine-vulkan-3.3-x86_64.tar.gz
• wine-witcher3-2.9-x86_64.tar.gz
• wine-staging-3.5-x86_64.tar.gz

Actually, it should be quite easy to directly use the Wine versions from Lutris in Phoenicis PlayOnLinux 5: just create a json file containing them and you can install/delete them from the GUI like any other Wine version.

You could also use the wine-staging from the official repository - winehq.org. 

On Ubuntu just add the repository: 

wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key

sudo apt-key add Release.key

sudo apt-add-repository https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/

Then install Wine Staging: 

sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-staging

The last version will be installed on /opt. If you want you could copy to POL wine versions folder. The POL also recognize this staging version as the system version, obviously.
