Good day,

I am trying to get OpenEdge's Progress Developer Studio working under PlayOnLinux/Wine.

The reason I am not using eclipse natively is that the Linux installation for Progress doesn't install the GUI development software I need to do my job...

Logic was that installing the Windows Progress software (under wine or similar) will install the eclipse based Developer Studio that also uses .Net and allow development without needing to deal with constant Windows issues.

After the install completes, starting eclipse gives a "Java was started but returned exit code=1" error with Wine.
I then proceeded to install the latest JDK (inside POL) and point the eclipse.ini in that direction using the -vm argument.

I now am getting a PlayOnLinux crash and no more java errors. Eclipse/Developer Studio does not start.

Am I fighting a hopeless battle?
Has anyone had any success getting an eclipse-based Developer Studio application working under POL/Wine?
