Hello all,
I am trying to install an older point-and-click game called "The Day the World Broke", but after a sucessful install with no errors the game doesn't launch. The relevent log file section is below. I have tried searching for similar errors online, but haven't found anything that I think is directly related. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your system setup properly?
- PlayOnLinux 4.2.10
- 32-bit libraries
- Video Drivers (Open source or proprietary)

I should mention that I have now tried this on my desktop aswell and the exact same issue occurs.
- POL 4.2.10
- 32-Bit install of wine
- Proprietary Nvidea Drivers
Edit: I'd like to add that I just verified that the game works when installed in a Windows XP VM. I decided to verify this when I had a mounting issue with another game from 90s. Atleast I have a workaround :p

Also make sure those 32-bit libraries are installed. Most games require 32-bit libraries because they are only 32-bit compatible, even if Linux is 64-bit, you need these libraries to play games.
If you can, please provide the entire debug log so I can see if there are any other errors.
There have been occasional games that refuse to run with certain versions of Wine. I suggest trying some of these versions:
- Wine 2.0-staging
- Wine 1.8.5
- Wine 1.6.2
You never know what will work and what will not. Also, check the game folder and see if there are any bundled libraries like:
- Visual C
- Direct X
- DotNETFramework
Some games require those and are very specific to the version needed. Otherwise it won't run.

It looks like I resolved the issue by moving to Wine 2.4, I'm sure an earlier one would have worked, but 2.4 does the trick. It looks like the issue is now that game doesn't detect the CD. Mounting an ISO works in a windows virtual machine, and of course the actual disk also works. I assume that means that something wine is doing is either obscuring the disc or tripping the copy protection (not sure what it uses, if any) for the game.

I never use ISO files for playing games. You can always extract the game from the ISO into your virtual drive and then create a shortcut to it.
Does this game have DRM?
