Hi, I haven't been using linux long, but I'm struggling to get Java, EA Origin and Ubisoft Uplay to install and run properly. I managed to get uplay installed via Steam at some point but I can't log in with it, it just constantly tells me there's no service available.

I'm on Mint 17.3 64-bit using Playonlinux 4.2.2 and Wine 1.6.2

My computer is a AMD Phenom 2 x4 965 Processor x4 with 15.7gb memory and NVidia G116 (GeForce GTX 550Ti)

For all the game apps below they are freshly downloaded from the websites.

While installing OriginThin (having tried following serveral videos saying use older version of wine [1.4.31 & 1.4.41]) I get no error, it just freeze during install - Execute "C:\users\name\Temp\Origin\vcredist_x86_vs2013.exe" /q -It doesn't matter what I do, I get this result or it reaches the end and goes "An error occured during installation and the application was forced to quit." (I then have to close Playonlinux to cancel it.)

Uplay gets through the installation and then when you click finish (with the Run Uplay box checked) it pops up (twice) saying "Uplay has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. Crash dump created at C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/crashes".

With Java, I need it installed on my Steam environment, so I load up the config and hit the misc tab and install an executable to that drive...

With x64 version I get a sad face telling me "Error in POL_Win Wine seems to have crashed. If the program is running, just ignore this message."

With x86 I get "The program jre-8u91-windows-i586.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." When I click Cancel, I get the sad face from above...

Can someone please help with installing these 3 things.

Thank you!
