Hi I'm relativelly new to Linux and this is my first time running POL or Wine for that matter. I'm running Ubuntu 15.04 and have recentlly attempted to get Xenonauts from GOG running. I've downloaded both patches from GOG, created and recreated several c-drives, tried moving the patches to different directories, and switched from Nouveau driver to the proprietary one from Nvidia and the best I can get is having the the bar on the installer stop at around 90% or so, no error messages no crashes it just stops.  the c-drive is created and as far as I can tell it looks like it has all the files it should have but no way to run the game I tried going into the terminal and running Xenonauts.exe directly with Wine and it gave me this error message

PlayOnLinux: /home/eric/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/Xenonauts/drive_c/GOG Games/Xenonauts > wine Xenonauts.exe

I had a similar problem with JadeEmpire from GOG. It would just halt in the middle of installing.
Try installing a Wine Staging version through the PlayOnLinux Wine Manager.

Then try installing the game with that "staging" version of Wine.  It fixed my problem with Jade Empire and now it installs perfectly.

Unfortunately the script will probably have to be updated first and the game has to be tested.  Otherwise you can try to install it yourself with a manual installation.  If the "staging" version works then let the developers know and they will update the script.

I hate to ask, but I don't know how to do that.

Just launch PlayOnLinux and click Install
Instead of searching for your game click "install a non-listed program"
then follow the instructions.  You will have to do a lot of setup like select a Wine version, 32-bit virtual drive, and libraries.
If you have success please report it to one of the staff and they will update the script

I used the 1.7.34 staging in a 64 bit virtual drive it installed successfully and everything seems to be in order.

Awesome!  I never use 64-bit virtual drives, but have heard others experience success with them.
Good job!  Mark this post as "solved" and let the staff know the newest version of Wine works and they will update the script.
