Ok. So, you will likely need to wait for an answer from WineHQ. You would need to work with them in the bug report and use regular Wine to test it. They can help you do all of the troubleshooting there, but I can't really do much else from here. Sorry.

I don't know how to use regular Win 1.7.44 in Ubuntu distro. They don't accept any else version, jsut the latest one...

There are the standard Wine releases for your distro. They should be able to troubleshoot with you using this package.

Building from source is covered in WineHQ's wiki, in case they want you to do that (it's actually pretty easy).

make sure you uninstall any Wine binary packages

What does this mean?

It means uninstall any version of Wine that you already have installed before installing a new one. Pretty straightforward. lol.

OK! Now I am getting error by error when running ./configure. i meant the stuff like I need to do this:

./configure --enable-win64 --without-freetype

to succeed!

I didn't have much time to find all the stuff and search for fixes, but I have one possible reason why Resident Evil 5 acts like this - it's color management may not be working on Linux. Just an idea, but maybe someone could take a look?

Is that speculation or is there something that is leading you to believe that? What happened with your bug report to WineHQ?

Well, they require latest Wine, it made me problems. I tried in forums, I decided to use 1.6.2, but when I try to log in Steam, it requests me to copy code from e-mail and input it, but I have to wait forever till I recieve the code. :( It is not speculation, it's just an idea. I don't know where to search releated things in game.

Steam does that regardless of Wine version. It is a natural part of Steam to send emails to verify your account; why it takes so long, I don't know. It is SUPER fast for me when I need to do it. Within seconds I have the email.

Well, if it is just an idea with no actual evidence pointing to it, we can call it speculation. :) haha. I doubt that is the problem.

Yeah - it is independent of version, it acted the same with 1.7.44-staging in POL, not sure why.

That is why you should try to work with WineHQ to get a bug report filed. ;) If it is broken across all versions, I am sure that they would like to know and possibly introduce a fix. If you are having trouble compiling Wine, check their documentation. They have a huge wiki that tells you how to download the source code and compile it.

I don't know what to tell you, then. lol. The tutorials that I mentioned are supposed to tell you how to get your debug logs from Wine and post them to a bug report in WineHQ. If you can't report the bug, then it might not ever get fixed. Not too sure what else I can do for you. Sorry.
