Issue (in plain English)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I'm trying to install KOTOR on my computer.  It reads Discs 1 and 2 fine, but pretty much as soon as I click through to Disc 3, it asks me to put in Disc 4, and as soon as I click through Disc 4, it immediately pops up with the "Don't click forward until the installation is complete" screen.  No Windows installer ever pops up.  I have done this multiple times, letting it sit for upwards of 20 minutes to see if anything happens.  I then click through, choose 2048 MB of VRAM, and it creates a launcher and configuration link in PoL and on my desktop, but neither one does anything.  How do I fix this?
Would the Digital Download option work for the GOG.com version of the game?
If it says "GOG" in the name on POL, then it is GOG. Digital download options don't normally include GOG (unless it is a POL GOG installer), since they have their own group of scripts.
Darn.  So no idea how to get the CD version to work for my system though?  I noticed the ntlm_auth error, and researched what that meant, but I have samba already installed, and can't find how to see which version of ntlm_auth I have, nor could I find any other way of installing it.
The NTLM_auth thing is not causing this. You can attempt to copy the CDs to a folder on your computer, and when POL asks for the installer, just point it to the installer .exe in the folder. That helps sometimes for disc-related issues when installing games.
So ISO's, or literally just the contents of the CD's?  Also, the script doesn't ask for an installer, it just doesn't do anything when the installer should pop up (did I mention I'm using the script, not trying to install manually?).  I don't really know enough about what settings are needed for a game to work to install it manually.
Just the contents of the disc. And the installer should install everything you need for you. The script should show an intro page and ask you for the discs or to locate the .exe. This does not show up? All of the scripts should ask you for either the discs or the location of the setup file.
Nope.  The options are:
CD Version
DVD Version
Steam Store Version
Digital Download Version (which is why I asked about the GOG.com version)
Nothing about installing from an .exe on my computer.
Select "Digital Download" version and it should have a "browse" prompt
Then you just navigate to the folder where you copied all of the CD's.  There should be a Setup.exe somewhere to start the installation.
Or try "CD Version" but instead of selecting the CD ROM, just click Browse, find the Setup.exe in the folder you copied the game.
At some point there should be a "browse" option
