As above: if the game is already installed on separate partition of the Windows OS; is there any way to just run it with PoL without install process?

Tools -> Manage Wine Versions -> Download and install the wine version you need

PlayOnLinux -> Configure -> Create Virtual Drive -> Make virtual drive, and choose the Wine version that you installed.

PlayOnLinux -> Configure -> select your virtual drive -> click the Misc tab, and Run .exe in this virtual drive

But that is only if the game is a single executable. You cannot run a game on a Windows partition through POL. It must be installed or ran through a virtual drive.

Check out appdb.winehq.org  and see if the program you are trying to run is listed, and see what it takes to run. People post tests for apps in there running through Wine.

Again, You cannot run a game from a Windows install through POL. It just is not how Wine and POL function.

Thank you for help.

Step 2: is that possible to make that specific .exe file I want to run with POL run as admin/root?

Nope. You NEVER, EVER run POL or Wine as root. There is no need at all to do that, and is discouraged in every way. You should actually pretty much never run anything as root. If you need to run directly as root, you have permissions issues. lol.

I am curious; why would you want to run as root?

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks.

It's not that I want to for some reason. On Windows, very same game crashes unless ran in admin mode. That's why I figured to do the same.
