Hi

I've been trying to get this csmt patched wine 1.7.1 for a couple of days.

I've since learnt that POL has it in it's store of wine versions.

the next step is changing the registry. Can i have some help with that?

To all users of this patch: don't forget to enable the feature in the registry, or Wine will work as usual;
csmt.reg:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareWineDirect3D]
"CSMT"="enabled"

Two ways,

- Manually:

Right click on a shortcut > Open registry editor

Then navigate down HKEY_CURRENT_USERS > Software > Wine > Direct3D (creating this last key if it didn't exist)

In the right pane > New String value

Call it "CSMT", give it the value "enabled", you're done

- PlayOnLinux way:

Configure button > (select the virtual drive) > Miscellaneous tab > Open a shell

In the terminal, type

POL_Wine_Direct3D "CSMT" "enabled"

you're done

I don't suppose there is a way to get a previous version of SC2 to be recognised by newly installed POL?

Also should i remove the version of wine that i installed myself? or won't it matter because POL will use it's own version?

That's not supported by the GUI; Subdirectories below ~/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/ have the same structure as a Wine prefix, plus a playonlinux.cfg containing extra settings (and usually a playonlinux.log, but it's optional to get something working). So while not supported it may be possible to migrate an existing Wine prefix and then create shortcuts in PlayOnLinux interface.

PlayOnLinux requires that some version of Wine is installed system wide. It assumes it's a 32bit version, and it can be used from PlayOnLinux as the "System" Wine version.

Petch i'm so grateful mate.

So far SC2 is playing well, all the characters are now visible.

The problem i have now is that the menu's in the game are all blacked out. They are fine at the start screen, but once in the game it's impossible to save progeress during a level, because the menu comes up black.

has anyone else had this problem resolved?
