I purchased Fallout 3 on eBay because I have enjoyed playing it on my XBox 360.  It is listed as a supported program on playonlinux and this is the only reason I purchased this Windows based game.  When I do the install, everything goes well until the end when a vague message pops up about disabling somthing to run it on wine.  Why are there no further instructions to play this game using playonlinux/wine? I own the program, it is not a copy or anything like that.   Thanks in advance. Oh, I run Zorin which is based on Ubuntu 14.02 ......

Looking at the install script, the message at the end of installation from a DVD is

You must disable anti-piracy protections of this game
if you want to play it with wine.

This is because the DRM (Digital Rights Management, or "protection against copy" in common terms) used in the DVD version of the game is not compatible with Wine.

However, giving instructions on how to disable DRMs is illegal in several countries including ours (DMCA in the US, EUCD in Europe, DADVSI in France,...), so we can't give you any help on how to effectively get it to run under Wine.

Neither depend on the fact you own a legitimate copy of the game, even if we could check that in some way.

Thank you very much.  Perhaps it would better better if playonlinux didn't support the dvd installation at all.  It would save us a lot of grief.  I have purchased it (again) on steam and will play it that way.  Thank you for your help.
