Hello all,
I Install Desura by Playonlinux script
but when i click on desura shortcut f, it crashes
Any help?

I have never tried installing Windows Desura because there is a Native Linux Desura available.
I recommend doing a manual installation instead of using the script.
You just click Install, then click "Install a program in a virtual drive" at the bottom
Follow the prompts, use a stable version of Wine like 1.6.2 and install typical packages like:
- POL_Install_corefonts
- POL_Install_dxfullsetup
- POL_Install_vcrun2005
- POL_Install_vcrun2008
- POL_Install_vcrun2010
- POL_Install_tahoma
Normally those will get a game or client running fine. But even if Desura runs, this doens't meant the game will download and run either. That is a whole other step of processes.

Sorry, i think this topic was abandoned :)
I installed your list of packages and wine 1.62 and i had a crash on Dumpgen.exe:
On playonlinux debug:
"Failed to create connection to server 'Desura' on topic 'link'"
with wine 1.7.22 SSL error. On playonlinux debug:
"GNUTLS ERROR: Public key decryption has failed"

Nope, just didn't see it until I started searching.
WineHQ's doesn't have any good feedback either for Desura. I would have to try it myself.
Did you know all of the games in Desura are DRM free? Meaning you can download the game, but then launch it without Desura. So if you have a Windows computer somewhere, you can download the game from Desura, then try to run in on Linux without Desura at all.
What game are you trying to play?

I installed client for pick up a steam key. I cannot on Desura linux client, because is a "only" windows game...
Thank you anyway, booman.
Do you know how I can test my ssl connection on wine (or ubuntu)? I had other connection problem with Defiance client Free to play.

Oh, not cool. So the only way to get your Steam Key is through Desura?
You may want to contact the developer and proof of purchase through Desura. Maybe they will send it to you. Otherwise just use a Windows box to install the game in Desura and then get your Steam key.
Not sure about testing SSL. I would need to see the debug output for Defiance to see what is wrong
