the logon interface loads perfectly until you type into the logon fields.

and then i find that my user name comes out as if its squashed arabic charachters,vaguelgy recognizable as "english" charachters.

 

my 2nd issue is that when i did get logged on,you then click a button to begin, which activates an automatic update, so far so good.

howevera few seconds into the update i am getting a notice that it cant connect.

this may be of course because i havnt got a clue about firewall settings in ubuntu 14.04, or it could be that i havnt a clue if there is anything i must configure in POL.

any ideas?>

i just checked my gufw firewall, and it's not switched on anyhow.

so thats not an issue it seems
