After installing Starcraft 2 without problems I get the error message "Initialisation of DirectX failed." The workaround is the first one under Troubleshooting named here:
http://serom.no-ip.org/index.php/Starcraft2_on_Debian

My question is now: Where to run these commands?
If I run "aptitude install nvidia-glx-ia32" in the Terminal which comes with Ubuntu I get the error that he doesn't find any package named liked that.
Beneath that I have got an ADM Radeon HD 6870 installed and no Nvidia card. So, how to install the 32bit driver (I think this is the step to do?) on my system? At the moment I use the open/free driver for it.

If I try to run the command in the Terminal in the configuration of playonlinux he says that he doesn't know the command. (Because it is a linux command and no Windows command and the Terminal is a emulated Windows terminal?)

Just got started with Linux (Ubuntu).

What distro are you using?
Do a search online for your distro and installing AMD drivers for Radeon HD 6870

But I have to warn you, AMD drivers are known to be "spotty" at best. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't
Its worth a try because if they DO work, then your games will run much much better.

Thank you for your reply.
I use the latest 64bit Ubuntu and now enabled the proprietary drivers of fglrx-updates. Now it works beneath not being able to choose the graphics settings ingame after changing them. Will start another thread if I don't find a solution. :)
thx for your effort
