I got sims 3 downloaded onto the computer. It is Ubuntu Linux, but I am not sure the exact details because it is my boyfriends computer and I am use to windows. I got sims 3 installed into Play on Linux, but when I go to run it it keeps giving me errors. At first it was I needed to install mono which I did. Now it keeps saying either POL-wine has crashed or the launcher has crashed. Here is the exact words:

So I finally got sims 3 download, but I have ran into another problem. It will launch, but when it gets to where you would choose your neighborhood it says it has a problem validating the game disc and to contact customer support. This is the same game disc I have had for a few years and I have never ran into a problem with validating the game disc. Any ideas why it would say this or what I can do? Thanks.
