Hello everybody,

I have installed manjaro 0.8.6 cinnamon x64 version, after that playonlinux 4.2.1 because i would like to stop using windows and play call of duty 4 modern warfare on my linux. After the question "where is mounted your CD-ROM i get this error "unable to find CD-ROM". I have tried right path as it shows when i move my cursor to dvd drive, solutions from other forums etc. but nothing worked.

configuration:
amd x3 phenom 720 BE
ati radeon 7790
mb gigabyte 990xa ud3

I will be thankfull if you could help me with this problem, and be happy afterwards because i will be able to do everything i want with linux as i was doing it  with windows :)

Do you have a multiple Disk retail copy of Modern Warfare?
I have had problems in the past with multiple disks....
My usual solution is to copy all of the files from the disks into a folder on the desktop, then install from the folder.

Otherwise, I have found some success by going to:
1. PlayOnLinux Configure
2. Wine Tab
3. Wine Configuration
4. Drives Tab
5. check your D: drive and make sure it shows the drive mounted on your desktop
6. If not, remove drive and add a new one with the path to your mounted drive

You can right click the shortcut to the disk on the desktop to find where its mounted.

I tried this. PlayOnLinux simply won't detect a CD-rom drive or a virtual drive. It spins the drive up but won't find the media. The drive works on Windows. PoL also won't find Wine or Gecko for me. I have uninstalled, I have purged and deleted all wine related things and all PoL. Re-installing has done nothing to improve this.

You might have to re-install Mint again. Linux normally does a great job recognizing devices like CD ROM and DVD.  Are you using an older computer?
