Hello & Bonjour!  First, thank you very much for your hard work on this project.  I downloaded it the other day and have been very pleased with its usefulness with some of my older Windows games.  I use a Mac today, but I had a Windows computer up to around 2006, and I have many PC games from the 90's and early 2000's that I would like to play again if PlayOnMac will let me.

My question - Is it possible to install a game to another hard disk?  My main drive in my iMac is almost full but I have several backup drives, and would love to install many of my games to one of them.  But, the install process does not seem to allow for a change in installation location, and it installs everything to the main drive.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Got it going, thank you very much!  The PlayOnMac directory location was slightly different, but I tweaked it and the symlink is working fine and installing and running games on the external drive.  Merci!

Hi -- I'm sorry to revive such an old thread, but is it possible to do this without symlinks? I have used symlinks to successfully intall and run SWTOR from an external drive, but I would like to set things up so that POM atuomatically installs and runs everything from that same external drive, with no symbolic links necessary in a computer's home directory. My issue here is that I would love to be able to move my external drive around to any of several macs that I regularly use (I split my time between two residences, so I have two computers that live on desks, and a laptop for travel). As a bit of an experiment, I deleted POM and all its files from my laptop and was still able to launch SWTOR from the external drive, but POM esentially re-made a directory in my laptop's home folder when I did so. This isn't so terrible, and I suppose I could live with this on each computer, but my strong preference is to have nothing from POM or the associated games on the home directory of any of these computers, and only have the games and POM on the external drive, so that I can just plug-and-play with any new games I add no matter if I'm travelling or at one or another residence when I start playing without worrying about whether this or that computer is set up just right. I would also prefer for the external drive to not be bootable. Can this solution be adapted to that? I really appreciate any advice you have -- I recognize this is a long-winded question on a forum where everyone works for free, and I appreciate any time you might have to address this. Thanks so much!
