For a long time I couldn't get netmarble loader to run then I tried installing IE8 to the VD. Netmarbles runs now but when I click start I get a blank black window followed by a wine error message about possible programs preventing the game from running. I have tried running the game with nothing running but vanilla Ubuntu Raring Ringtail but it still gives the same same error.
If anyone gets a chance please help figure this out. This seems to apply to several games, probably any game that uses the netmarble loader.
I have been using the same VD that I run skyrim and Civilization V G&K in (Steam for Windows). TKS.
I'm also trying to get Uncharted Waters Online to run. Also uses Netmarbles.

Interesting, maybe there are some services running from the other games... like Steam that are prohibiting Arcane Saga from launching. I recommend always creating a new Virtual Drive with each game so they don't conflict with eachother. What version of Wine are you using? I looked on WineHQ and can't find anything called "Arcane Saga" or "Netmarbles" you may be "treading new water" here... since no one else has posted about it. Looks like another Free online RPG... I'm a huge fan of Drakensang and Neverwinter. Maybe I'll download it and try it myself in Linux.

Ah I see, keep us updated on what you find out. I may try and download too. So is Netmarbles a client you have to launch before running the game? Kinda like Steam?

Yes but I use steam to launch it. Don't understand why we have to go thru two launchers, seems kinda dumb but I guess its that one company. Probably Valve has to do it that way. We might be able to get it from their web site and by pass steam but then no Steam achevments. Edité par steve723

Yeah, that doesn't make sense either. So you launch Steam and then launch netmarbles? Strange...

Yes. Sounds like a USA Fedral Government operation! A Major S.N.A.F.U. (Situation Normal All Fouled Up)! Lol. I tried it in windows and at first it didn't work but after I submitted a ticket, they made a new patch and it works. Now we just need to figure out why wine is not able to get it to work. I wouder If wine IE8 might be to blame. a Netmarbles forum thread said that IE 9 and 10 are not compatible. Must be either IE7 or 8. Does wine IE8 really act like IE8 or is just part way.

I tried turning off the Steam overlay for the game overlay and then launching the game but no change.

I can't understand why IE8 is required for any game? I have always wondered if we could install firefox or chrome in the virtual drive and use that to launch games instead of IE8. I had to install IE8 to play Neverwinter

Same here but I never could figure out how to do that. I would try that if some one figured out how to install them.

I've never tried, but I'm guessing you could download firefox, then install from the PlayOnLinux configuration Miscellaneous tab where it says "Run a .exe in this virtual drive" Then just open the firefox.exe and install it in the Steam virtual drive. But I think you have to set the registry so Firefox is the default browser.
