I tried installing Towns demo (steam Green Light Game) to the same VD as the one I use for Skyrim. It installed fine via steam. When I tried to run it wine said, 'This game requiers Java Run Time 1.6.0'. I looked in playonlinux Configure > Install Componets but Java is not listed.
Kubuntu Raring Ringtail.

Download the offline installer for the JRE from https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Then, in PlayOnLinux: Configure button > (select virtual drive) > Miscellaneous tab > Run an .exe from this virtual drive and select the file you just downloaded.

We dont have a function for this? Also, Im surprised that if its just a java game, that it wont run natively on Linux.

I think there's something about Oracle not providing a direct URL for download, so that was not a good candidate for automation. Maybe that info is wrong or obsolete, though.

Ahhh. That makes sense. No solid place to download the redistributable and Im sure their license doesnt include 3rd party hosting.

Native version. I figured if I can get games to run in Steam for Linux then I don't have to mess with wine or a wine wrapper. Of course it could be that wine is better for some games and i could be wrong aboutSteam for Linux being better. If Steam for Linux is better then I hope Valve convince's more companies to port their games to Steam for Linux. For now though, I hope you and the rest of the playonlinux volunteers keep geting more games to run properly on playonlinux. Even If all games are ported to Steam for Linux its clearly going to take years, maybe 2 or 3 decades. Maybe by the time people start colonizing Mars it willl happen, but NASA's soonest plan for manned mars missions is about 2030 - 2035. That's not carved in stone though, so it could be sooner or very likley later.

Just stick with the Native, as we do not support installing programs that already work on Linux.
