Hi, guys I'm a slacker user(14 64bits) and I installed POL normally. But I have a problem when I try to open it. "PlayOnLinux is not supposed to be run as root. Sorry"
Is it possible to run it as root? Anyone here did it?

Never run it as root. There is absolutely no reason to.

Actually yes there is. granted it is limited, but it exists....and the inability to do so is causing me problems....unless you know of another way to get the direct hardware access for wine needed too use ftd2xx protocol...I use http://gatopeichs.blogspot.com/2012/10/usb-d2xx-driver-for-wine-on-linux.html and it only functions when wine runs as root

And now for the next installment of 'You canna do that!' Install POL, install game under apropos verison of wine creating the wineprefix and .PlayOnLinux/wine///.... note commands to run game..
chown thew entire .PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/ to root, sudo -i (or su - or login as root[not recommended]) set WINEPREFIX=~/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/ export WINEPREFIX ~/.PlayOnLinux/wine///bin/wine [wine opts] and it's running as root.. Yippe. technically it is not running PlayOnLinux as root.. but the wine is running as root.. Here's hoping they don't ban me in their ire over my workaround to get necessary functionality (I have no idea if they are that kind of irritable, this statement is NOT a pre-judgement of anyone).
