hello all. i have CentOS 6.4 installed on my machine. I try to install the playonlinux RPM and it seems to install fine, fast but fine. i dug a little deeper when i could not find it in my applications menu and it was only an added repository or catalog or something. whatever it was it was not the software. i do see playonlinux in the repository now but upon trying to install it i am stopped by so many hilarious error messages. (i use the word "hilarious" sarcastically because i am so done with this right now) im getting error messages stating there are issues with fullfilling the dependencys. but the dependencys won't install (i guess thats whats wrong). i try to install them and the apparently depend on each other and without them i cant install them. i feel like this is going in circles and will kill me if i don't find my way out soon. if you need any log files just tell me where they are and they will be up that night.

Hmmmmm. Well, Im not sure on there, but you should need curl, wxwidgets, and quite a few others. Can you post out what dependencies its missing? Also, your package manager should be able to take care of all of the deps with no problems.

Which PlayOnLinux did you install? I'm asking because I have made the mistake of installing the wrong Ubuntu version because they aren't labelled Ubuntu Only. They all have names like Precise and Natty, but I never knew those were only for Ubuntu. All other distributions should be using the .deb install.

here is what it gives me when trying to install the package from the "add/remove software" app.
playonlinux-4.2.1-fedora0.noarch requires wxPython playonlinux-4.2.1-fedora0.noarch requires wine
i've been trying to install both but this is so over my head... im learning a lot though.....

i installed the RPM for fedora because the tar file is not working as it was explained. im using a redhat based distro, uses RPM packages. not fedora but based on redhat wich is fedoras base as well.

Sorry, the website wasn't connecting yesterday for some reason... You are fine using the RPM then... I was just referring to the Ubuntu confusion. This tutorial may work for CentOS: OhHeyItsLou TutorialsIts using a .repo download and installing it with Yum
