I have just returned to EVE Online but I am having problems with POL not being able to find python27.dll.

I found the dll and downloaded it and used a shotgun approach to copy it to all the win32 directories that I have on this machine.  After copying it to about 5 different win32 directories plus my Temp directory POL still cannot find it. It keeps putting up an error message saying that it cannot find python27.dll in ~.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/EVEonline/drive_c/users/andrew1/Temp.  Even though it is there. It is looking for it in a .tmp file which changes everytime I try and run the game.

I have managed to install EVE and can get to the logon screen but when I press play, the start screen appears briefly and then disappears.

Any help would be gratefully recieved.  I apologise if this topic has been sorted out already but after a considerable time searching this forum I have not been able to find it.

Well, Python needs to be installed on your system, but not a .DLL. thats for windows.

We need your linux type, architecture, and the terminal output from running playonlinux from a terminal.

If POL couldnt find Python, it wouldnt start period, so there is something else going on.

I've managed to get EVE to run.

I went into the Wine configuration page and set mscvr90 to (native,builtin).

I have no idea what that has got to do with python27.dll, but it did the trick.

Thanks for the reply, now all I need to do is get EVE to see my keyboard, but that is another problem that I'm just about to have a go at.

It doesnt have anything to do with it. You just didnt install a VCRUNTIME. That python error (You still didnt tell us where you were getting it or post up the debug, so now we are cluless) has nothing to do with msvcr90. Two completely different things.

Any help much appreciated :)

One thing .... PlayOnLinux warns me I don't have 7z but I should (though it seems to let me continue anyway). In any case I *do* have it installed (and have reinstalled to make sure) so I guess it can't find it ... I don't know why.

I usually install p7zip-full and p7zip-rar and I never run into that issue.

As for the rest, Im not sure what would have caused it to crash.
