Hello. I have been trying to get two old games back from the late 90's to work. They are Lords of the Realm 2 and Warcraft: Tides of darkness 2. I have Ubuntu 12.04. I installed both games perfectly but when I went to play them, it said there was no disk inserted. I would really appreciate help. thanks!

Those may need a no-disc crack to work correctly through WINE/POL, and we dont support that. How did you install them?

Ok. Maybe try to copy the whole disc to a folder, and direct the install script to that folder instead of using the disc's folder. I dont if its exactly ok to do that, but its worth a try.

Insert the disk and try this:
1. Launch PlayOnLinux
2. click Configure
3. Select game Virtual Drive
4. click Wine tab
5. click Configure Wine
6. click Drives
7. click "automatically detect drives"
8. click OK

Now try launching the game again. If the error still says "please insert disk" or anything along those line, then Wine is still not seeing the disk in the drive.

You may have to use Terminal and navigate to the disk to find the correct path.
In Mint its usually:
/media/username/disk1
Note: username is where you put your login or home name

Make sure to put the exact name of the disk and its caps sensitive.
If there are spaces, then you have to use quotes:

"/media/username/Game Disk 1"

I've also seen this error because of SecuROM or DRM problems.
Sometimes it refuses to see the game.

Also, look for those old games on Gog.com. Then you can get a DRM free download.
