Getting 20 or lower FPS in Diablo 3

I'm a new linux user and I'm using ubuntu 12.04. I installed diablo 3 through playonlinux. My issue is whenever I'm in game I get sub 20s FPS consistently. It doesn't matter if I lower my graphics setting or resolution I still get the same frames. This same rig runs this game perfectly on windows.

I tried reverting back to gnome classic desktop and it doesn't seem to help. I'm using a radeon HD 9790 with latest Catalyst 13.3 beta drivers.

I have a amd phenom X6 (6 core). I tried setting the core affinity to use a different number of cores using the WINE task manager and it did not seem to help. Any insight into my issue would be very helpful.

Well, of course it would work fine on windows. Its a Windows game. :)

Its not your desktop environment thats causing it. Try this:

Open PlayOnLinux -> click Configure -> select the virtual drive for D3 -> click Display tab -> disable GLSL support

See if that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I disabled GLSL support and now the diablo 3 launcher says my video card is unsupported and just closes.

Hmmm. Re-enable it, and then try to open it up and turn down your GFX settings; specifically the shaders, if you can (I dont have this game, so I cannot test it. )
