Well, there are a few things that can cause that. First, please read the forum rules and stickies, as you are leaving out some crucial information for us to find out whats going on. Also, how did you install LOL? Do you have an aftermarket graphics card? What kind, and what drivers? All of this is explained in the stickies at the top of this forum. Please read them and follow the instructions to get the information we need. Welcome to POL. :)

Definitely sounds like a DirectX or video driver problem. Can you post your specs? What version of Wine are you using? Wine versions can really affect how your game communicates with your drivers. Did you use a script for the installation or did you manual install? I always recommend installing these packages after the game is installed: d3dx9 vcrun2005 dotnet30 (if using wine 1.4.1 or earlier) Also, in PlayOnLinux 1. click Configuration 2. Select virtual drive 3. Display tab 4. Direct Draw Renderer: opengl 5. Video Memory size: the amount of memory on your video card 6. Offscreen rendering mode: fbo 7. Wine Tab 8. Reboot Windows

Thats kind of a shot in the dark, considering we dont know anything, because the forum rules werent read on how to post up issues. Even if this fixed it, we need to get users used to posting up correct and full information, as well as reading all of the forum rules before posting, as it saves a lot of typing and a lot of time.

You still didnt post your debug output. :) Thats one of the stickies, and usually required. Try what was suggested and see if it works.
winecfg>set winXP
you cannot run winecfg like that in POL. There is a completely different way of getting to winecfg in POL.

Dreamnorth was saying: 1. Click Configure 2. Select Wine Tab 3. Click "Configure Wine" 4. General Tab 5. Windows Version: Windows XP 6. Click OK That should change your Wine to run in XP environment

I know what he was saying, but Im almost positive that wasnt the issue, which is why I asked them to read the forum rules and post the needed information so we are not just taking guesses at everything. Dreamnorth SHOULD have said all of that, but didnt, which is why I stated that wasnt the issue and that it was the wrong information. Its essentially irrelevant at the moment, because it could be a million different things, but we never will know if users dont post up all requested/required information for troubleshooting. That is the point that I was trying to make; users need to be more concise when posting issues and need to read the rules and guidelines for posting, otherwise a 3 post issue turns into a 30 post issue, because it takes 12 posts to get the right information.... all because stickies and documentation werent read. :) I always say: RTFM. haha

Once again... Agreed! Most people are single posters and probably don't even see the forum rules and regulations. I like to reply so they know someone is here listening and we can help if they are willing to answer our repetitive questions.

Well, the problem is, its forum etiquette to read the forum rules and documentation for the software that is being posted about. I mean, why do the admins and mods go through the trouble to spend hours writing and taking screenshots, for users to ignore them and post incomplete information? We shouldnt have to ask repetitive questions, if there are already stickies with that info in them. Why re-type what has already been well explained? That is why I usually will reply, asking them to read the forum rules and tutorials; so we dont have to repeat ourselves, they know we are listening (because we told them that their post doesnt conform to rules), they get concise information, without wasting anyones time answering something that has been answered at length, because the end-user didnt bother to read anything at the top of the forum that says PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING. hahaha. I mean, they are stickies for a reason. Single posters or lifelong poster; not following the rules and reading the documentation makes it SO MUCH harder to help, because now we have to repeat ourselves. If I refer a user to the forum rules, they need to read them. Period. :) It helps us all, and saves the users time.. In short, it gets the problem solved faster.
edit: Im not mad or anything. lol. I just type really fast, and a lot comes out before I realize how much I typed. Im just trying to reign in some of these cowboy posts, so that we can get help faster and more efficiently out to the users. :) Edité par RoninDusette

Great! Not sure what is going on with the map... I don't have League of Legends, but did you read about it on WineHQ? There may be some comments about the map on WineHQ

I do want to emphasize again that his information was a guess (but knowing booman, it was an educated one, and the right answer. lol). Im glad that it was fixed, but next time you need to report all of the information requested, not just some of it, so that no one will be guessing. If this wasnt the answer to your question, we would be right back where we started; no info and guesses. :)
Cheers

Its true... I have to troubleshoot my games with trial-n-error by trying different packages and wine versions to eventually get it running. I'll install one game 5 times if necessary! I doubt most people are that patient... My suggestions worked this time, but you may have other issues with conflicting packages and wine configurations.... could be the problem with the map? Let us know if you have any other problems with games!
