GOG.com upgrading its installer, PlayOnLinux scripts require or will require updates to match
Samedi 10 Novembre 2012 à 11:12
Hi all,
GOG.com is currently upgrading many of its game installers to version 2.0, I guess planning to upgrade them all.
This breaks existing scripts:
- Download hashes must be updated
- The new installer crashes right away if it can't find the native gdiplus.dll library. (A workaround is to use Wine >= 1.5.9, but I can't enforce this version on all games)
- There's a potential issue at the end of installation on multi-screen setups, if you're in such case feedback is welcome
- Installation path and filename cases changes
In the meanwhile, if you saved the v1 installers, you can use them instead of downloading the v2. If you didn't keep the old installers, all you can do is wait for the script to be updated.
I'm trying to modify the scripts so that the old installers should still work, but for lack of time scripts will only be thoroughly tested with latest installer available, thank you for your understanding.
