Could one of the moderators aprove this script? The game is fully working when using this script. The old script which uses wien 1.4.1 no longer cuts it.

I've managed to run this game. Both TS3.exe and the launcher works. You might get the "unable to connect to Origin" error but otherwise this game will work provided no error will interrupt dotnet35 instalation.

Forgot to mention but mods, custom content and instalation of .sims3pack files via launcher works fine.

The only problem is that the game window makes everything on your monitor much brighter. Using virtual desktop did nothing.

I got the Sims 3 launcher to work for a Steam download of Sims 3 by installing Wine 2.12 (staging) as my systems wine version, installing vcrun2005, dotnet40 and mfc42.

That got to where the Sims 3 Launcher would open, but immediatly close. The problem lies with the urlmon.dll. So... I followed these steps:

Except I registerd the DLL from the command prompt instead of the dialog (since we don't have a dialog like that).

Now I can install Custom Content, but not DRM protected custom content that I purchased from The Sims 3 website.

There's a checkbox for include "No-cd needed" when you're looking for install scripts in the POL GUI :)

and you can forget all the problems I mentionned just before.
This tweak is driver specific, but I guess it's ok (I don't think it can hurt).

At very least you need the 32bit version of libpng 1.2, but I'm not sure that this is also the reason for the .NET issues...

Comments : Im playing with all expansions, playable even on this machine (Macbook Air 2013 i5, 1,3ghz). I have not used this installer, used my own method, tweaked some things in settings and after hours of work it started working. Only problem is that mouse sometimes disappear and there is a quick fix, just change monitor HZ in settings (from default to 60 and vice versa) and you can play how long you want. No crashes, only few graphic glitches, but nothing bad. Even the launcher works.
