I'm trying to use this software:  http://www.logtagrecorders.com/software/software.htm
to read data and set up data loggers (which are essentially little devices that automatically record temperature and humidity data at set time intervals) connected to a USB interface device.

The software works great via PlayOnMac, which is super exciting, but it won't read my USB ports. It only lists 4 serial ports which are "Already in Use." Likely this is an issue with the LogTag software itself, they warn that only serial ports work in linux (though only USB ports work in Windows-weird).  However, I'm wondering: Does anyone out there know of a work around for this so I don't have to install windows on my already-overrun macbook?  Something that would trick my computer into thinking the USB device is actually a serial device in a serial port?

I'd love the help if you have any suggestions.
