No problem. :D Im glad I can get other musicians using Linux. I really think that if Reason, Ableton, and all of the Native Instruments products worked on Linux, MANY MANY MANY would convert over. As a matter of fact, a lot of people dont remember or didnt know, that the pioneer of digital DJ software using hardware, Final Scratch, actually required you to dual-boot your system to run a special version of Linux with real-time capabilities. Linux is great for music; there just arent a lot of pro software for it. I hope that Wine, POL, and all of the other projects will get some of the big guys to devote some time to Linux development. This IS going to happen soon. A lot of people are now aware of what Linux is, and a lot are going to start converting. I can see it. hahaha

Yes absolutely!Especially when they created Ubuntu Studio with Realtime Kernel which is great for music production! Bitwig is coming soon...And when they see how many people want linux running DAW's they will run for it!

HOLY )(*&)@#(*&$(_*^_(@*_%&*(_@*()#$(*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS LIKE ABLETON FOR LINUX!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING THIS TO ME!!!! It says on their site that it will be a native linux app. I dont know if I am ready to move from Ableton (I have been an AVID and major user of Ableton Live* for 10 years at least. Basically since it came out. ), but I am VERY interested to see what can be done with it. You are the MAN! Edited by RoninDusette

Good news, 8.2.2 on Ubuntu 12.10 - no problems. Bad news, 8.4 doesn't install at all (MSI only).
Found a workaround - I opened a shell via the configure, then ran wine msiexec /i Setup.msi
Worked just great :) Edited by mbybee

Ahhh. I'm sure some BASH could fix this in the future. Add a feature request for this script in the Bugs section.

If that helps: POL_AutoWine
# Detect if the file is a .exe or a .msi file and run it with POL_Wine
# Same usage as "wine"

I'm not even sure it's documented, but I remembered seeing it in the sources :)
